ENGLISH PROGRAM

Student English Teaching Program:

Our organization is dedicated to improving English language skills through an inclusive and dynamic program involving high school and college students. These students conduct English language lessons twice a week for several teachers at Anne School that spans over four core areas: Speech and Conversation, Reading and Reading Comprehension, Writing and Grammar, and Vocabulary. Our ultimate goal is to enhance the English proficiency of these teachers and, subsequently, that of their students. Speech & Conversation: Introduce common conversation topics and questions, and discuss how to respond to them effectively. Teach the meanings of common phrases and idioms used in English conversations. Practice the fluidity, rhythm, stress, and intonation typical of native English speakers. Provide feedback and advice to improve pronunciation. Reading & Reading Comprehension: Select passages and short stories from Epic!, annotating them to highlight special phrases, idioms, and vocabulary. Read and review these passages with the teachers during class, correcting pronunciation errors and answering grammar and syntax questions. Prepare reading comprehension questions for each class and review them afterwards. Writing & Grammar: Offer lessons on tenses, syntax, grammar, diction, and their practical applications, with accompanying practice exercises. Prepare writing prompts for teachers to practice writing skills, then review their work, provide feedback, and correct mistakes. Provide examples and worksheets on grammar to help teachers practice recognizing correct and incorrect grammar, and using tenses accurately. Vocabulary & Application: Teach the meanings of vocabulary words related to various topics (e.g., school, medicine, household objects). Create examples (sentences and short paragraphs) using these vocabulary words and review their meanings with the teachers. Facilitate practice sessions where teachers use the vocabulary words in both speech and writing exercises. By addressing these areas comprehensively, we aim to not only improve the English skills of the teachers but also enhance the English proficiency of their students through better instruction and modeling.
